The life of a chef is messy, it's hectic and chaotic. But being a mom, a chef, and a business owner is a whole different story. If you're a parent (or even a pet parent), you'll know that getting your little ones to try new food is hell. I've told all the stories - "carrots will help you see better and broccoli will make you strong" - but when it's your job to make amazing food for a living and your child tells you they don't like it, well, it's like being told by the world's biggest food critic that you suck! So how do you get kids to try new food? Well, the only way I've found is to get my kid in the kitchen with me. That's right, give the kid an apron and spatula, and you soon have your new sous chef. Of course, they are going to make the biggest mess that you, yes you, will have to clean up later. But the memories and life skills you are teaching them are priceless. If you want to get your kids involved in the baking or cooking at home start small, try family pizza night. make the dough roll it out together, make a mess and then of course you get to eat your hard work after. We make this a weekly thing in our house it brings us all together and the best part is that you each make your own pizza no sharing. My pizza dough recipe is available on the recipes page if you want to give it a go.
